Dan Hafner (Inducted in 2016)
Dan was born in 1964 in Buffalo, NY and grew up in Amherst, NY. He started riding at the age of 11 years old. His first race was at Zoar Valley in 1977. Dan won his first race at Enfield, NY in 1978. In 1980 he won both the 125 and 250 amateur classes.
Dan turned pro in 1982 and raced the Open motocross class in the Florida winter series and rode the 250 class in both the motocross nationals and supercross series. Dan continued to race the 250 pro classes thru 1985. His last race was at Washougal, Washington. He retired from racing at the end of the 1985 season.
In 1993 Dan got the bug again and returned to returned to racing for the 1993 season. After racing Dan went in to the family business, got married and had three children. Racing was one of the best experiences in his life.
